The Honorable Visitor, Japan in Leiden Wandelgids (SieboldHuis) leidt de lezer, al dan niet al lopend, langs alle plekken in Leiden die iers te maken hadden of hebben met Japan. Ook vertelt het ondermeer het verhaal van de eerste Japanners in Leiden, of de eerste hoogleraar in Leiden.
Het gidsje en de wandelroute zijn niet alleen interessant voor de Leidenaar die zijn stad op een andere manier wil ontdekken, maar ook voor elke Japan-geinteresseerde bezoeker aan Leiden
On the 25th May 2000 the Emperor and Empress of Japan visited Leiden and as they strolled along the Rapenburg from the SieboldHuis to the Hortus Botanicus, they stopped to chat with three young students who were waving to them from their window. The spot at number 51 on the Rapenburg where the Imperial couple stopped was commemorated Sunday when the city of Leiden honoured this location with a special plaque. Mayor Lenferink – who in the past has helped several Japanese tourists find this spot – together with Ambassador Shibuya, Japanese Chamber of Commerce Chairman A. Ujita, Steering Committee Chairman J.J.n. Rost Onnes, Vice-Rector Magnificus Professor Dr. M. van Dam, and Mr. P. de Koning of Astellas Pharma Europe unveiled the plaque on the Rapenburg.
